Part 1. Professor Philip Cunningham speaks about the transformative nature of Nostra Aetate and its impact on Catholic Teaching. He follows with some brief remarks on Christian-Jewish Relations since October 7, 2023. In concluding, Philip speaks of the relationship between Jews and Christians as one of Co-covenanting Companions.

Part 2. Professor Adam Gregerman, reviews some of the most important contemporary issues in Catholic theology today, issues that have their roots in Nostra Aetate, a document that laid the foundations for a continuum of changes in Catholic theology – something that Jews have come to appreciate over time. From a Jewish perspective, he looks at the positive ideas that have future promise exploring the ideas that Catholic and other Christian theologians and thinkers have taken further. Adam speaks of Nostra Aetate as a “sea-change” in the Church, which is reflected in later Papal statements and contemporary sources.

Part 3. In a fascinating discussion, facilitated by Sr Thérèse Fitzgerald NDS, Philip Cunningham and Adam Gregerman, share their thoughts, experiences, ideas, and hopes, in the Jewish and Christian Dialogue space, post Nostra Aetate. They offer encouragement in encountering the challenges yet to be resolved, as we move forward with the momentum that Nostra Aetate initiated in 1965. We have much to celebrate, and much to do…
