Parashat Ha’Azinu. Deuteronomy 32:1-32:52
Deut. 32:1 “Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak,
and let the earth hear the words of my mouth.
Deut. 32:2
May my teaching drop as the rain,
my speech distill as the dew
like gentle rain upon the tender grass,
The rain and dew, the grasses and shrubs of the field, the animals, the insects, are our conversation partners. Nature teaches without words, and its message reaches everywhere.
Pause: Name an animal, or an insect, or a flower, or any other object of nature that spoke to you. What did you hear?
A Prayer:
Psa. 19:1
The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
Psa. 19:2
Day to day pours out speech,
and night to night reveals knowledge.
Psa. 19:3
There is no speech, nor are there words,
whose voice is not heard.
Psa. 19:4 Their voice goes out through all the earth,
and their words to the end of the world (Psalm 19:1-4).
